globalisation of sport

Globalization or globalisation in its literal sense is the process of making, transformation of some things or phenomena into global ones. It has spread all over the world and influenced many things. Every thing has been changed by globalisation. Sports also are one of them. In Korea, many aspects of sports can be see. This following essay will support for my view.

Firstly, the globalisation of sport causes many people to be interested in other countries sports. For example, old korea people did not expect to watch or see English premier league on the TV. Nowadays, it is easy to watch and read news about that and many people talk about foreign soccer players. It was hard to see Korean players play in other nation’s leagues but as globlisation has spread, many Korean players play in other leagues. In addition, it also make foreigners are interseted in korea. Taekwondo which is a Korea traditional sport has been popularise in the world. It used to be known only in korea but other nationalities have become interested in it.

Secondly, the globlisation of sport has developed huge sport brands such as NIKE, ADIDAS and PUMA. Just 10 ~ 15 years ago, it was unusual to see some one wear or bring huge sport brand goods but it is too easy to see people with them. Moreover, these company support globlisation of sport. For example, NIKE sponsors many national soccer teams, Korea as well. It cause people to buy another national soccer uniforms.

In conclusion, globalisation of sport can not be avoid and it has been good effect on sports popularisation. However, it might be bad to culture. People could be more interested in other countries sports. There are advantages and disadvantages. We have to make a distinction which part is good or not. globalisation of sport has been still changing. We need to follow good ways.
